less than a month to go! in fact, 4 weeks today, at this very moment, we'll be sitting on a plane, watching no-brain-required movies, on our way to our paradise island. bliss!
over the past two months we've got lots of things sorted out. i had a major block with my outfit. i was so torn between getting a nice tea dress or a full blown bridal gown. i couldn't make my mind up and ended up spending hours trawling the internet for inspiration, to the point where it was getting obsessive! i finally found the right thing, not really what i'd imagined but absolutely gorgeous and very 'me' - which i think was what was stopping me all along, that i was looking at traditional options and they just weren't reflecting my personality. well, eventually, with the dress style and colour finally nailed down i was then able to move on and choose flowers and accessories. boo looks gorgeous in his very modern, well-cut suit and i spotted some sharp modern brogues for him, though finding a tie to match the colour of my dress is our next challenge.
the venue is all set. flowers are decided upon and the table arrangements are going to be absolutely fabulous! the menus are chosen, for the majority at least. me and my also raw best mate have the fantastic and unbelievable honour of being catered for specially, courtesy of the truly amazing raw chef russell james. can't believe my luck! we've talked ideas but the actual menu is a surprise, which is a delight, as nothing else is going to be a surprise for me, as i've organised everything so far. i'm looking forward to rolling up on the day and just relaxing. having everything done for me, after all this time of deciding and phoning and checking and researching, is going to be fabulous!
and now for a bit of a geeky moment. we've found backpack really useful for all the organising. you can make lists, named and numbered as you choose, and as you cross things off your list they are shunted to the bottom of the list in such a way that you can see what you've completed without it cluttering up the remaining tasks. we've been using it for years now, but i have to say it's really come into its own these past few months. check it out, even if it's to do your weekly shopping lists, it's worth signing up for the free version.
